Certain Advantage is hiring for a Mechanical Design Engineer, based near Yateley.

This role is on a permanent basis and is fully office based.

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer with any experience in marine or subsea engineering, and a strong working knowledge of FEA, looking to join a renowned leader in the development of underwater technology, where you will work on a varied range of bespoke and concept designs, for Maritime Security and Defence, Oceanographic Research and offshore Oil & Gas applications?

The Role:

This role is for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, looking to work on wide range of cutting-edge projects for subsea instrumentation and technology.

You will be a key member of the team, adding value in a challenging subsea environment where designs are pushed to their limits.

  • Design and develop bespoke concepts and technologies – design requirements to come from internal and external customers, for a range of subsea instrumentation.
  • Project will vary vastly and could be anything from 1 day – multiple years in length
  • Work closely with clients, production, engineering and procurement
  • Research new and upcoming technologies and assess requirements for use within the company
  • Verify and validate your designs using hand calculations, FEA and experimental testing
  • Produce comprehensive mechanical drawings using Autodesk Inventor
  • Contribute to the development of new working processes, practices, methods and equipment
  • Maintain electro-mechanical design responsibility for nominated products throughout the life cycle of the product

The Individual:

  • Strong technical design experience ideally gained from working within subsea equipment design or similar
  • Strong FEA experience
  • Practical mechanical engineering experience
  • Eligible for SC Clearance
