Description of role:

World Class Defence Organisation is currently looking to recruit an Electronics Engineer Subcontractors on an initial 6 month contract. The role can be worked on a 4-day week basis (Monday to Thursday) but will be required to be onsite. You can be based either from the companies Bristol or Stevenage site (depending on your preference.

An Engineer with a background of working as an Electronics Engineer, Test Engineer or RF Test Engineer would be great. Ideally from the defence or aerospace industry.

Contract Duration: 6 Months (initially and then ongoing thereafter)

Hourly Rate: £65ph (Umbrella)

Electronics Engineer Job Description:

The RF Group within the Seeker and Data Link Systems Dept is responsible for a variety of RF work including RCS prediction and measurement, Antennas, RF Testing, Radar System and Radio altimeters.

Responsibilities:

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing RF Group supporting the Electronic and RF testing of some of the most exciting projects in the defence industry.

We need an Electronics Engineer to support various tasks including testing, component level assembly and rework. Ideally you’ll have exposure / bias towards RF technology across the full product life cycle.

Most importantly you will be a good team player and willing to play your part in a high performing and welcoming team.

Skillset/experience required:

  • Ideally, degree qualified (or equivalent industry experience) with experience in electronic design, development and delivery; preferably in defence or related industry.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team with the awareness and understanding of the challenges that this may bring.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of electronic technologies and products
  • Familiar with RF circuits and components across a wide range of frequencies
  • Practical skills – soldering, fault finding and RF component level assembly
  • Use of RF Laboratory Test Equipment – Spectrum Analysers, VNA’s, Power meters
  • Ability to use CAD software such as KiCAD or ORCAD
  • Good communication skills with the ability to produce high quality written reports and presentations to internal and external customers

You will be able to work autonomously within a multi-skilled team with a good understanding and dedication to achieving project goals. You should also have the skills to perform technical investigations, provide problem assessments, and propose design solutions within a culture of innovative thinking.
