Role: Accounts Assistant

Location: Motherwell (Hybrid Working)

Salary: c.£30k (DOE)

You will be an integral part of a team managing and progressing the financial aspects and business processes on a daily basis.

This opportunity requires a vigilant professional who is a team player, to work in a fast-flowing environment.

Our client is looking for an individual with experience in full end-to-end Accounts Payable, who is competent in Microsoft Office and is looking for a challenge in and exciting role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all communications into the accounts mailbox
  • Handling the purchase order logs
  • Prepare payment runs each month on time
  • Prepare and process sales invoices monthly
  • Responsible for credit control and monitoring the updates
  • Undertake reconciliation including travel and supplier statements
  • Handling petty cash
  • Review contract financials for implementation of new projects.
  • Take on other financial responsibilities and tasks when required
  • Update and check over process notes where needed
  • On the accounting software Xero, will set up new Direct Debits and Suppliers

Experience:

  • Qualified accountancy by experience (minimum 3 years) or accountancy qualified (with 3 years minimum work experience)
  • Track record of an excellent standard of work who needs limited supervision
  • Organised and a strong communicator internally and externally who does not shy from new tasks and understands online accounting software
  • A keen eye for detail with a methodical approach to processes
