Automation Developer

Fully Remote

Rates: Negotiable (Inside IR35)

Contract until Dec 2025 (Extensions thereafter)

A leading global organisation in the energy and natural resources sector is looking for two Automation Developers to join a major technology transformation programme focused on Connectivity Standardisation & Automation.

This is a fully remote opportunity, rates are negotiable, with an initial contract running through to December 2025 and potential for further extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automation and integration solutions across platforms including Ansible, ServiceNow, and GitHub.

  • Develop Python scripts and Ansible playbooks to support system and network automation.

  • Standardise and document network configurations using YANG modelling for routers and switches.

  • Integrate APIs (RESTCONF/NETCONF) and manage data formats like XML and JSON.

  • Support service documentation, SOPs, and training for operational teams.

Tech Stack & Tools

  • Automation & Orchestration: Ansible, Jinja2

  • Languages: Python, Bash, Go

  • Network Modelling: YANG

  • API Protocols: RESTCONF, NETCONF

  • Platforms: ServiceNow, GitHub, Azure, AWS

  • Data: XML, JSON

  • Other: Azure DevOps, GIT, Linux, Apache, MySQL

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong experience in automation and systems integration.

  • Proficient in Python and automation using Ansible.

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, GitHub workflows, and network infrastructure.

  • Experience with network standards and modelling (e.g., YANG).

  • Background in IT Service Delivery (ITIL preferred).

  • Knowledge of WAN, LAN, IP management, DNS, DHCP.

  • Certifications such as Cisco DevNet Professional or CCNP are a plus.
