Management Accountant

My client is a market-leading, specialist manufacturer with a commitment to product development to maintain it’s international market position. It has an enviable client portfolio, a first class reputation and is known as an employer of choice.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced & commercial Management Accountant to join the established and capable finance team, initially for a 12 month term to cover maternity. However, due to continued revenue growth, there is a strong chance this could be extended and become a permanent role at the successful completion of the intial term.

Reporting to the Head of FP&A your role will be clearly focused on reporting, analysis and partnering across sales, production and overheads. So experience across these areas is essential – as is strong Excel expertise and SAP / ERP experience would be a big advantage.

Duties will be varied, including ad hoc investigation and analysis, the following:-

• Monthly Reporting on Sales & Margin, Overheads & Balance Sheet
• Attendance at Month End review meetings
• Direct involvement in production, consolidation, reporting & analysis of the periodic forecasts for Sales and Overheads
• Support business decisions and new business cases by developing tools to improve sales and profitability forecasting and planning.
• Driving process standardisation
• Reviewing, collating and reporting of commercial overheads, challenging any key variances

Whilst a recognised qualification would be ideal, it is recognised that the experience is far more important than a formal qualification particularly in line with the budget.

The role is based in Blackburn with Darwen and is hybrid. 3 office days are expected although it is anticipated that a greater presence may be required early in the contract to establish relationships and systems & process training.
